Your new role
As the Assistant Accountant, you will play a key part in maintaining financial management and supporting statutory, transactional and management accounting functions. This role provides exposure to multiple systems, financial processes and business units.Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining financial management and management accounting processes, including completing end-of-month tasks for assigned business units.
- Analysing and interrogating data to assist in preparing Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cashflow reports.
- Assisting in the delivery of statutory reporting and compliance obligations.
- Maintaining strong record-keeping and documentation standards.
- Completing data checks across key systems including Pronto, Redmap, Translogix, Asset Registers, Payroll Journals and others.
- Producing performance and financial reports from various systems.
- Providing support to finance, accounts, payroll and other operational functions.
- Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation activities, including bank, purchase card and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Undertaking additional finance or administrative duties as required.
- Working safely and reporting hazards.
- Participating in WHS programs, audits and emergency procedures.
- Adhering to company policies, ISO 9001 quality standards and the Code of Conduct.
- Acting with integrity, honesty and respect in all interactions.
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification in Accounting (or equivalent).
- Desire to pursue CPA or CA upon completing your degree.
- Basic understanding of accounting standards and principles.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High level of numerical accuracy.
- Aptitude for financial or data analysis.
- A proactive and self-driven approach to learning and development.
